Dr. Steven Lowinger
Dr. Steven Lowinger is a board certified optometric physician specializing in primary eye care and contact lenses fitting and management. He has been practicing in South Florida for over 20 years, and is a native Floridian born and raised on Miami Beach. He is the managing Optometrist of Lowinger Eyecare North Miami, Lowinger Eyecare Miami Lakes, and Lowinger Eyecare Mall of the Americas.
Dr. Lowinger’s practice centeres on providing eye examinations for the diagnosis, management and treatment of conditions of the eyes and visual systems as well as the fitting of various types of specialty contact lenses. He is a contact lens specialist and has published numerous articles and lectures on contact lenses, multifocal contact lenses, and contact lens solutions. He has been a consultant for Vistakon, Alcon Labs, and Bauch and Lomb, as well as a speaker on Dry Eye and Retinal issues.
Dr. Lowinger graduated from the Universtiy of Florida in 1991 with a Bachelors in Business Administration and then got his Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in 1995.
Dr. Lowinger is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and Energeyes, The Association of Corporate affiliated Optometrists, of which he is a board member.
Dr. Lowinger is Fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Graham Rasanen
Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Rasanen is a national board certified optometrist specializing in custom contact lens fitting, myopia control, and non-surgical overnight vision correction, otherwise known as Orthokeratology.
A native of South Florida, Dr. Rasanen received his Bachelor of Vision Science degree with honors from Nova Southeastern University, and his Doctorate of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry.
During his Optometric education, Dr. Rasanen received the Pediatric and Binocular Vision Clinical Excellence Award, and the Essilor of America Varilux Student Award. He is a member of both the American Academy of Orthokeratology & Myopia Control and the Scleral Lens Education Society. He is an accomplished lecturer, providing education to 4th year students at NSU since 2009. He provided clinical insights to fellow colleagues across the globe as a correspondent for one of optometry’s first internet podcasts. He holds multiple certifications for contact lens fitting, including Boston VST, Paragon CRT, WAVE, and Kerasoft, to name a few.
He speaks fluent English, Japanese, and conversational Spanish.
Dr. Shenila Rajani
Dr. Shenila Rajani is a national board certified optometric physician specializing in primary eye care, custom contact lens fitting, and non-surgical overnight vision correction known as orthokeratology. A native of Manhattan Beach, California, she has recently moved to Miami, Florida after her marriage.
Dr. Rajani is proficient in providing comprehensive eye exams for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye conditions including dry eyes and open angle glaucoma. She is also, a contact lens specialist and holds certifications for contact lens fitting in Paragon CRT, Dreamlens, Contex OK-E, Vipok II and XC, and BE Retainer lens. Dr. Rajani has volunteered for multiple non-profit organizations which includes FUDEM, Special Olympics, and Aga Khan Foundation. Through FUDEM, Dr. Rajani went on a mission to El Salvador and provided comprehensive eye exams to the economically vulnerable.
She has received her Bachelor of Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and has received her Doctorate of Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Rajani speaks fluent English, Hindi, Urdu, and conversational Spanish.
Dr. Ray Kim
Dr. Ray TW Kim is a board certified optometric physician. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences at Queen’s University in Canada and went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. He completed his internship in ocular diseases at the Eye Center of South Florida where he worked with Dr Dan and Dr Hoffman. He gained further insights into ocular diseases including management of glaucoma and macular generation with Dr Aker at Aker Kasten Eye Center.
Dr. Kim has gained extensive experience in providing secondary and tertiary ophthalmic care to geriatric population. His professional interests lie in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and potential amblyopic conditions in pediatric.
Dr. Kim also served as the adjunct faculty member of the College of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences and Salus University in the past three years at South Florida Vision Center. His principal roles included being a clinical preceptor to the fourth-year students in the Primary Care services.
He also enjoys fitting specialty soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and exploring the world with his family.
